Overview

This position is responsible for assisting with ensuring business continuity and recovery plans and processes are in place to allow the organization to quickly respond to any business interruption. This position provides support and guidance to business and technical resources throughout the enterprise, globally, in support of the Business Continuity Management Program, and will be responsible for helping with the organization’s response to any actual disaster recovery event or other events that trigger Crisis Management processes, such as Security Incident Response Coordination.

Responsibilities

Crisis & Security Response

  • Provide guidance and oversight for the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), ensuring effective coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide incident response efforts.
  • Conduct and lead enterprise risk assessments to identify critical vulnerabilities, gaps, and areas for strategic improvement; develop and drive remediation plans in collaboration with stakeholders.

 

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR)

  • Oversee the enterprise Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) program, partnering with business units, IT leadership, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment with organizational risk tolerance, regulatory requirements, and recovery objectives.
  • Design and oversee enterprise-level BC/DR testing and exercise programs, ensuring exercises are comprehensive, regularly conducted, and results are used to mature organizational readiness and resilience.
  • Drive enterprise alignment by collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to integrate continuity and recovery planning into broader risk management and operational strategies.
  • Direct and guide the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) program, ensuring data collection and analysis across business and IT units is accurate, current, and aligned with recovery time and recovery point objectives.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise-wide policies, standards, and frameworks for business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response; ensure compliance and continuous policy evolution.
  • Maintain the integrity of documentation, playbooks, and knowledge repositories, ensuring they support current business processes, recovery strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance on process improvement initiatives, including the development and maintenance of end-to-end process flows and mapping for critical functions across business and IT.
  • Manage business continuity and disaster recovery vendor assessments to determine adequacy of vendor continuity programs. Prepare written evaluations for management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor across the enterprise to local administrators, coordinators, emergency response teams and project leaders in support of the Business Continuity Management Program.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration or related field.
  • Professional certification from either the Disaster Recovery Institute, International (DRII) or from the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) or related certification or degree desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business continuity and recovery planning methodology, frameworks and industry best practices and industry related standards (ISO, BSI, FSA, etc.) with a keen appreciation of associated benefits, practical limitations, risk, financial and business impact analyses.
  • Prior experience in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Business Continuity Management (BCM) methodologies in large organization, or in related discipline such as Risk Management desired.
  • Ability to handle full scope supervisory responsibility during a crisis, emergency, disaster, or security event.
  • Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery application and infrastructure architectures with the ability to clearly define High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Continuous Availability (CA) requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather data, perform data analytics, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and give presentations.
  • Excellent project management experience with strong planning, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills necessary to establish standards and implement complex business continuity plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Visio, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with Service Now ticketing tool is desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced and rapidly changing business environment.
  • Amenable to work at night following Eastern Standard Time (EST).
